Supporting Carers in the Workplace

With the Carer’s Leave Act 2023 now in effect, supporting carers in the workplace has become more crucial than ever. To keep you informed, we provided updates in our April newsletter and hosted a roundtable discussion in May. You can watch the discussion through this link: “Create a Supportive Workplace Where Carers Can Thrive.

Caregiving is a universal experience that touches us all. As Rosalynn Carter once said, “There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.”

Our Carers white paper is officially out: This month, we are proud to publish our white paper, ‘Unseen and Unheard: Shining a Light on the Silent Struggles of Workplace Carers,’ which stems from the valuable contributions and insights shared during our roundtable. This paper aims to highlight the often-overlooked challenges faced by workplace carers and offers practical strategies for creating a supportive environment.

There are approximately 4.7 million unpaid carers in the UK, the need for a proactive, inclusive, and family-friendly workplace is more important than ever. This white paper underscores the importance of supporting carers and offers actionable strategies for organisations to implement.

A huge thank you to our roundtable panellists for their valuable contributions:
