Ageism awareness for managers

As the workforce ages, with over a third of employees now over 50 and half of the UK’s adult population expected to be over 50 by 2030, it’s more important than ever for managers to recognise and value the experience that mature workers bring. Yet, a Workingwise survey reveals that 71% of employees feel their employers don’t appreciate the soft skills developed through years of life experience. This webinar provides managers with the insights needed to identify and challenge the negative attitudes and biases that often surround mature employees.
In this one-hour session, managers will learn how to spot the signs of gendered ageism, an often-overlooked issue that affects men and women differently. We will explore the four types of gendered ageism, discuss where it can show up at work, and provide practical strategies to address it effectively. Managers will leave with a clear understanding of how to support midlife employees and foster an age-friendly workplace culture that values the wealth of experience these employees offer.
“A great mixture of talking and practical exercises. The facilitator’s energy is infectious. She is searingly honest about her own experiences. Even as an experienced manager I learnt a lot about how to really create a supportive team culture for more mature team members.“
