Preparing to return to work

This two-hour workshop is all about preparing to return to work. We have designed the content and delivery to support employees returning from long-term leave, such as maternity, shared parental, or adoption leave, ensuring a smooth and confident reintegration into the workplace.

Why preparing to return to work is important

A recent People Management study revealed that one in five mothers leave their jobs after a negative or discriminatory experience, with many others struggling during their return to work. Without proper support and preparation, new parents often feel isolated, disconnected, and overwhelmed by workplace changes, which impacts their confidence and wellbeing.

Our Preparing to return to work workshop, available virtually or in-person, provides practical guidance to help returning parents or carers manage their health, family balance, and career aspirations. It fosters a safe, supportive environment where participants can reconnect with work, colleagues, and begin planning their return with confidence.

Recommended for anyone currently on leave, the session covers key topics such as sharing experiences, considering personal options, role analysis using SWOT, exploring flexibility, and preparing for manager meetings. This training equips employees with the tools to feel empowered and prepared for their return to work.

The coaching workshop has positively impacted me in so many ways that I didn’t realise it would. I want to thank the facilitator for being so supportive and encouraging and helping me to realise my value and potential.
