What is Parental Transition Coaching?

Parental transition coaching is a specialist form of coaching that supports people through the personal, professional and practical changes associated with becoming a working parent.

Support at Every Stage

It provides a confidential and supportive space in which individuals can reflect, plan and make informed decisions throughout their transition – from preparing for parental leave and staying connected while away, to returning to work and considering their longer-term career development.

A Person-Centred Approach

Rather than telling someone what to do, a parental transition coach helps them explore their own priorities, challenges and ambitions. Coaching conversations may cover confidence, identity, communication, boundaries, workload, relationships, wellbeing and balancing career and family life.

Benefits for Employees and Organisations

Effective parental transition coaching helps working parents feel understood, prepared and supported. For organisations, it can strengthen engagement, retention and inclusion while creating a more positive parental leave and return-to-work experience.
