Coaches and Facilitators
Sarah Flynn
Professional Coach, United Kingdom
Psychologist, postnatal facilitator and coach, Sarah works with individuals and organisations to build wellbeing and sustainable performance during times of challenge and change, particularly those relating to parenthood and family life. With strong personal values and deep empathy, Sarah Flynn has built her career helping people recognise what it means to be their ‘whole self’ in every area of life. (Coaches in English and Italian).
Background
Sarah began her postgraduate career as a psychologist working in healthcare. Here she developed her interest in how team dynamics and leadership influence the care that patients and clients receive in complex healthcare settings. This experience inspired her to use her psychology training within commercial and public-sector organisations to support team resilience and performance.
In her work with international organisations Sarah has undertaken ‘Resilience Audits’ to understand how organisational cultures influence challenges such as the under-representation of women in senior management roles, cross-company decision making, team effectiveness, authentic leadership and the relationship between psychological wellbeing and performance.
Experience and qualifications
Sarah has worked with international organisations including Microsoft, Royal Bank of Canada, ICBC and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has also worked with law firms Dentons, Kingsley Napley and Sidley Austin; insurance companies AXA XL and Legal and General; UCL and Imperial College London. Sarah has been an invited lecturer on the topic ‘Authentic Resilience for Sustainable Performance’ for the Sustainability Leadership Programme at the University of Cambridge.
Sarah is registered CPCC (Certified, Practising, Co-active Coach) and a trained Organisation, Relationship & Systems Coach (CRR Global), accredited with the International Coach Federation. She is a Psychology graduate and holds an MSc in Psychological Research Methods from the University of Exeter. She has also attained a Diploma in Postnatal Facilitation.
Approach to coaching
Sarah’s training in Psychology and Co-Active Coaching allow her to get to the heart of who clients are; their leadership style, their values, and their aspirations as professionals and as parents. Her approach enables her clients to recognise what really matters to them personally, empowering them to establish a sustainable work-life. As an Organisational, Relationship and Systems (ORSC) Coach, she works with clients to build their relationships both at home and in the workplace in order to achieve this. She is the mother of two children herself and cares deeply about creating cultures that we would be happy for our young people to work in.
Her approach emphasises the close relationships between positive mental health, wellbeing and high performance in teams and other systems.
‘This was easily one of the most worthwhile experiences of my career, in terms of helping me to manage the current situation and in preparing for the future. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone and I plan to consult my manager to see if I can continue to work with Sarah.’
Coachee
‘I think Sarah does an amazing job and she was so helpful and powerful in assisting me in my transition back from maternity leave. Many times I felt like I couldn’t see the exit from all the fog and she helped me navigate each and every time! I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with her again in the future!’
